At the begining of June, we where lucky enough to be able to train yet again with the wonderful Jennie Loriston - Clarke. This time i decided it was Sky Galante's turn he hadnt seen her since last year.
The main focus for us was activity, so we worked on really making the hind legs work in the Trot, i have got into a habit of letting him glide instead of work. Galante is now competing Elem but is working on Medium movements. The halfpass was worrying for me as he was dying a bit on me at home. But with Jennie really making me get him active i should'nt of worried as he just went. My rougue arm however decided to show it's self in the half pass left.
The whole session was fabulous i got so much out of it, at the end we worked on Movements out of i think it's E-59. Again it becomes obvious that Activity was the main problem again.
On the whole i just need to be more demanding, in a nice way of course & reward him with lot's of walk breaks. I was very pleased that Jennie really picked up on how much better his canter is. I have worked quite hard on this & it was lovely she noticed & gave a lot of praise for this.
She did say that he had really come on well & is a very smart horse who she can see doing very well in his competitive career such lovely comments from someone with such a background as JLC.
